When guitarist Jon Ostrom gathered a group of friends to play a weekly gig at a Portland, OR coffee shop, large crowds gathered and Cross-eyed Rosie began to make a splash in the vibrant music scene. Now, after one CD, countless gigs, and many sunny festivals, they've emerged on the touring circuit as a talented, creative, and heartfelt group of musicians. Often dubbed as progressive bluegrass, CER mixes original songwriting with instrumental standards. Playing compelling original work and covering soulful songs, CER shares homegrown sound and acoustic flare. They're vocally charged by the voices of Allison Longstreth and Lincoln Crockett, who's musical stories engage the audience to the stage. Guitar, mandolin, and fiddle provide rockin' solos and move the crowd to their feet. Blended together with tight 3-part harmonies and smooth musicianship, CER's music creates a refreshing acoustic experience. Cross-eyed Rosie is the runner up for Best Local Band in the 2005 Willamette Week's Readers Poll. They've played at festivals such as Wintergrass, Northwest Folklife, and San Francisco Bluegrass & Old-Time Festival, and are proud to have showcased their talents at the 2005 Telluride Bluegrass Festival.
