Artist
Criminal Shift is an indie rock quartet which combines the expressive depth of classical music with the urgency of pop. With a sound all their own which they want to spread to the world, they have aggressively promoted and performed shows since their formation in March of 2007. Venues they have performed in include several Dallas metroplex clubs such as Curtain Club, The Door, and the Ivy Lounge. Criminal Shift has also supported national touring acts including The Eastern Conference Champions (Suretone), The Films (7Hz), and The Secret Handshake (Triple Crown). With each member coming from a classically trained background, Criminal Shift consists of four able musicians with long-term goals. Guitarist and lead vocalist Douglas and drummer Matt have trained for several years on the violin; bassist Hunter is classically trained in bass and keyboardist Hannah has trained for over a decade in classical piano. However, these aren't your standard classical music snobs; the members of Criminal Shift have a wide ranging interest in music from jazz and R&B, to acid rock and heavy metal, and everything in between, all of which can be heard in their music. Criminal Shift’s live show is something that can only be seen to be believed, a spectacle of emotion and raw power piled into a wall of sound which can be felt through any club. Only 16 years old, guitarist and lead vocalist Douglas's songwriting and performance is mature and focused well beyond his years. The word's getting around
