Current line-up - Lindsay Munro (vocals), Alan Cormie (guitar), Rod Munro (bass), John Sinclair (drums). Former members Steve Sinclair (guitar, bass), Kenny Boyle (vocals) Crimedesk were formed in Glenrothes on 6th March 1979 by some punks who were inspired by the DIY attitude of punk bands - and loved the music. Most of the band members were previously in a short-lived band called The Burnt Curtains. The original line up for Crimedesk was: Lindsay - Vocals, Alan - Guitar, Steve - Guitar, Rod - Bass, John - Drums. The first live performance was at Newcastle Primary School in Glenrothes during the summer of 1979. More gigs followed in Glenrothes, Leven and Kirkcaldy during the remainder of the year. In November 1979 Crimedesk recorded some tracks at the Lomond Centre Recording Studio. The songs were recorded with Alan on lead vocals as well as guitar - Lindsay having left the band the previous day. During this period Arms Race was recorded. This was to become Crimedesk's first single, released on a now highly sought after EP (NTP1) on Newtown Products DIY label. Check out Newtown products on our friends to hear the single.. The band continued briefly as a three piece playing a few gigs in Fife until a replacement for Lindsay was found. Kenny then joined Crimedesk as lead singer.
