Creation Of Sunlight was a west coast pyschedelic-pop band from the late 60s. The group got its start in Long Beach, California in 1966 with locals Carl Estrella (lead guitar), Don Sain (rhythm guitar), Steve Montague (bass guitar), Jerry Griffin (keyboards, vocals), Bob Morgan (drums), and Ron Clark (percussion, flute, saxophone) joined by Oklahoman lead vocalist Gary Young (formerly with The Torques). The group were originally named the Sunlights Seven. Sunlights Seven were signed to DCT Recorders in 1968 recording an unreleased album SUNSTROKE. While this material never made its way to the public, an acetate exists. The band signed to the Windi label and changed their name to Sunlight before releasing their sole LP CREATION OF SUNLIGHT in a limited run of 500 copies in 1970. Two singles were released from the album: Sometimes a Woman/Colors of Love and David/The Fun Machine. The album was not a commercial success and in 1971, Sunlight disbanded.
