Artist
Crawling With Tarts is an experimental music group and was active during period 1983-1998. Principal members were Suzanne Dycus-Gendreau and Michael Gendreau and often they work with guest musicians. Music of CWT ranges from structured composition to free improvisation and is based on a wide palette of sounds, many of which are newly created with homemade instruments, and some contain subtle sounds, like the sound of rocks rubbing together. Their compositions are created and edited by a process which has the structure "organized in some way...some illogical way more like. There's always one way to do it and a hundred ways not to do it." During 80s CWT were largely involved in underground cassette-exchange network but from the beginning of 90s some LPs and CDs have appeared. Also they produced several video works. Michael Gendreau now is active as a musician (solo works and collaborations with Francisco Lopez) as well as a scientist (acoustics and vibration studies). Selected discography: 1.
