Originally called Blasphemy of Ages, the Cape Cod-based band soon changed the name to Crap Napkin after the two original members Rich and Big Nick (bass) left, replaced by Aaron (bass). The other members were not keen to Rich's Black Metal style of playing, and did not like the idea of playing guitars with metal gloves or dressing in black and wearing ghost makeup.
