Cradle Of Thorns formed in 1988 by Ty Elam COT released a series of one-off albums (including 1990's seminal Remember It Day) that, along with extensive touring, earned them a national underground following. Signed in the early '90s to Triple X Records - home ot among others, Social Distortion and Jane's Addiction - the group relocated its base of operations south to the thriving Huntington Beach music scene, even as they continued to attract attention with releases like 1994's Feed Us and its follow-up, 1996's raging Download This . In between studio stints, the band opened for a bewildering variety of acts from the above-mentioned Social Distortion to Offspring, Sunny Day Real Estate to SugarRay. In 1998 Cradle Of Thorns signed to Korn's Elementree Records label, and changed the band name to Videodrone and released what would be Cradle Of Thorns 4th Studio album, after a series of tours with Korn, Rob Zombie, and Orgy, Videodrone broke up in 2000. In 2006, they reunited under Cradle Of Thorns and released one final album in 2007, and then broke up again in 2015.
