The Cougarettes emerged from the combination of multiple music and video based projects: the embryonic duo Cardy and jRRRy, Frank Garret as a solo artist, and visual performer Pepe. The group’s first song, “Ego Head,” was inspired by a jRRRy and Cardy jam recording, which was then mixed with a song off Frank Garrett’s solo project. Their sound is a mixture of cold and steady beats, deep analog bass, modified electronic toys, and skipped-chopped screamy vocals. Cougarettes remixed Wendy Carlos, Mathématique and Mathias Mental. Cougarettes disbanded on fall 2010. Some members are currently involved in the indie electro rock project TangoCharlie (http://tangocharlie.bandcamp.com) On myspace: http://www.myspace.com/thecougarettes User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
