Artist
Three-piece punk rock from Frederick, MD in 2010 inspired by 70's punk and 90's punk/ grunge. Matt Henry (Mathias) started his musical career at the age of 13, serving as the lead vocalist for a local band of friends who called themselves The Ingrates. As time went on, he began teaching himself to play drums, bass, and guitar on the side, until he felt confident enough in his guitar playing to start recording his own songs on an 8-track machine at the age of 19. Many of these early recordings were released in 2017 as a compilation album called IT CAME FROM THE BASEMENT--tracks from the first 7 years of the band's existence, featuring different collaborators such as Evan Braswell (ex-Lilac Daze, ex-Cheshi) on bass/drums, Max Detrich on drums, and Chris Wolfe on bass. In late 2012, Matt and Evan would form Frederick, MD pop-punk trio Lilac Daze, along with bassist/vocalist Patti Kotrady. Aiming more towards the indie/pop side of punk (a la Pixies and early Weezer), this band would become Matt's primary focus until they disbanded in late 2016/early 2017. While this period would certainly slow down Matt's output with Cosmic Halitosis, the project would remain as an outlet for the ideas that didn't fit in to the Lilac Daze catalog. Following the end of Lilac Daze, Matt was again able to focus on Cosmic Halitosis as his primary project and decided to record and (hopefully) get a label to release the first full length Cosmic album. The result of this effort, recorded by Pablo Cab
