Corey Heider is a former guitarist/bassist for the Kirksville, MO, USA college rock band the Petting Zoo (1990-1995) which was largely influenced by the Replacements, Too Much Joy, Soul Asylum, the Velvet Underground, and virtually any other artist they listened to at the time. Corey Heider is also a former guitarist for Kansas City, MO, USA alternative country/roots rock band The Welterweights (1998-2003), which was largely influenced by Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Wilco, and the Replacements. Corey Heider is currently a home recording artist, residing in a suburb of Kansas City and released his first full length solo record, "sounds like fall, smells like spring" in September 2010. Influences that can be heard in his music include Paul Westerberg, Buffalo Tom, Bob Mould, and many other 80's-90's alternative rock stalwarts.
