Conservative Military Image started as a one-man band by Adam Voss to make music that he wanted to hear in a then stagnant skinhead scene. Originally a Chicago-based hardcore skinhead band, members were added from Boston bands like Street Power and Haywire. The current line-up of CMI is Adam Voss, Austin Sparkman, Chris Cesarini, and Frank McGhee. CMI make waves with their catchy mix of Oi!, hardcore, rock, metal and street punk. Adam Voss lists a variety of influences for CMI that include The Stone Roses, Rose Tattoo, Sepultura, Bon Scott era AC/DC, Crowbar, The Devils Blood, The Smiths, Wooden Wand, The Hives, KISS, The Chisel, and Yellow Stitches.
