Conquistadores of the Useless (COTU) is a hard rock trio based in Oslo, Norway. COTU likes to create and play music that is melodic, surprising, entertaining and loud. Their style is a mixture of grunge brewed with a dash of stoner and generous amounts of hard rock to form a tasty hybrid that makes COTU quite different than most rock bands on today’s scene. Inspirations come from pioneering bands such as Iggy and the Stooges, ZZ Top, Black Sabbath, Captain Beefheart, Black Flag, Hüsker Dü, Mudhoney, Monster Magnet, Kyuss and more. Their debut album, modestly named "Hot Boots ‘n a Tiny Hat, Red Marble ‘n a Can of Lard, Come on Join the Magic Carpet Ride", has recieved good reviews and is worth the thirty minutes of loud listening.
