Madison, WI, United States (October 2011 - present) Color Me Once is an acoustic female duo which formed in Madison, WI in October 2011. The band consists of Johnice Miller (vocals, bell set) and Kelsey Nelson (guitar, mandolin, vocals). The band released their first album, Memoirs EP, in March 2012. Color Me Once has a unique and heartwarming sound that both silences and illuminates bars. From their melodic guitar parts to their soulful lyrics, Kelsey Nelson and Johnice Miller complement each other almost perfectly. Kelsey Nelson has been playing various instruments since the age of 12 and has been inspired by music for even longer. Kelsey balances emotion and passion to win the hearts of listeners. Her intricate and soothing accompaniment mixed with her love of music, add a distinct layer to the band's already unique sound. Johnice Miller picked up a guitar for the first time at 20 years old. She has natural born talent and has begun to hone her craft. Johnice’s voice is a mixture of soul and folk, and when combined, emits a beautiful and calming sound.
