about

Since forming as a trio in 2008, Collector Base Emitter have trimmed down to a duo, leaving behind none of their three-piece girth in the process. Philip Iroh (Guitar, Vocal) and Winfried Steiner (Drums) utilize space as well as density and are no strangers to cascading rhythms and the freedom of noise. Be it striking up catchy blues riffs or a gritty punch in the mouth, Collector Base Emitter create rules where none are necessary and follow them in places nobody would expect them to. After self-releasing demos and EPs and touring in various parts of Europe, CBE put out their debut record “Peach Water” on Wire Globe Recordings in 2011 which saw them working with Stefan Kreuzer and the artist collective Atzgerei who have worked for Melvins, Valina, Mudhoney, Xiu Xiu and many more in the past. After short-lived line-up changes Collector Base Emitter are currently working as a duo again and will put out their newest 7’’ entitled “Hector Conrad” in 2012.
