Cojum Dip is an experimental metal/jazz/opera/math rock band/music project started by Bora Karaca in Ann Arbor, MI around 2004. They gained popularity in the Ann Arbor/Detroit area as one of the most insane, entertaining live acts ever. The band is also known for their personas, wearing distinct multi-colored luchador masks. The idea of Cojum Dip was conceived by guitarists Bora Karaca and Jacob Hurley in 2000, who took on the personas of Bodur the Clumsy and Laurence. The band's roster was completed between 2004 and 2005 with the additions of drummer Blake Gower as Captain No the Love Machine, guitarist Brian McCorkle as Mumutits the Sour, and bassist Traf Lewis (later Alex Saenz and Matt Sever) as Udabn the Feared. They released their first album, The Greatest Demo CD in the Universe in 2005, and played live in the Ann Arbor area, gaining local fame for their avant-garde style. Their second release, Anthropomorphic Bible Assault EP was released in 2006, however, the band would disband later that year due to Bora moving to Los Angeles, covering songs such as Inside The Mind Of Simon and Over the Hills and Far Away in their final show. The band, excluding Brian, would temporarily reunite for a show in 2008, with Turk Off EP being released in the same year. Bora would continue the project as a solo act, as well as working on projects such as Hawaii: Part II. Many video game covers were made during this time, such as the Videojuegos album in 2011.
