Coinslot- they have an extremely unique sound. They have effectively fused together ska guitars, funk/ska basslines, punk drumming, and an attitude-filled female vocalist on their latest EP Smile, Music is Dead. Their songs are dance-inspiring singalongs (occasionally screamalongs) that are always just a little bit left of center. Described as "3rd wave ska," Coinslot has upbeat catchy music and lyrics that one can skank to. They offer a high-energy, wring-out-your-shirt-after-the-show kind of set. With Neil (guitars) getting shirtless and jumping into the crowd, Pete (bass) dancing like a fool, random outbursts from Jim (drums) all while Jessica (vocals) is jumping, dancing, or exciting the audience, it is definitely a spectacle not to be missed. Notably Coinslot has played shows with artists in such genres as hardcore, metal and even underground hip hop acts (such as Qwell) and has been well received every time.
