Many artists are defined by a local sound, directly connected to the place they were born and raised. Traveling the world since a young age, Elke Devuyst - who was actually born in Antwerp - had seen half of the world by the gone year of 2000, the period when she turned 16. Though born in Belgium, she only lived there for two years till her parents decided to move to Paris as her father was offered to work at the French embassy. In parallel with her studies in philosophy, she nurtured a passion for German minimal electronic music. Working a minimum wage job during the day while playing small Parisian clubs at night, she hopes to one day be the "Ellen Allien from Paris".
