There are multiple artists called Coast. 1. Coast are a modern jazz band from Australia, lead by drummer/composer Paul Derricott. They released their debut self-titled album in 2018, and quickly followed it up with "Skim" in 2019, a live album in 2023 and the album Ember in 2025. 2. From the label that discovered TrinityRoots, sprouted The Black Seeds and created Fly My Pretties, New Zealand's Loop Recordings Aot(ear)oa presents Coast. Not long after forming, Coast took out top prize in the 2008 Eastern Bay Battle of the Bands, judged by Kora, and then Auckland's Rock to the Top competition in 2009. With these early achievements, it's not surprising that the young band's potential came to the attention of Loop's Mikee Tucker (TrinityRoots, The Black Seeds, Fly My Pretties), who quickly joined forces with them. 3. Coast were a mid-90s Britpop band that released three singles and a full length album entitled "Big Jet Rising" on Sugar Records. 4. Coast are a rock group from Southampton, formed by singer Paul Eastham in the winter of 2007. COAST have a decidedly Celtic sound, and influences include Runrig, Big Country and Dire Straits.
