Cloudcover is an indie band based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was formed in 2011 by Schuyler Putt and Bryan Mullins. Recording of their first album began in 2011 and was finished in August of 2012. Influences include an array of artists from The Beatles to Radiohead to Neutral Milk Hotel to even Passion Pit or LCD Soundsystem as cloudcover's music attacks many different genres and themes. The group's first studio album, 'Memento,' was recorded in late 2011 and 2012, and was independently released in the United States on August 6th, 2012. This initial work was an eclectic mix of indie genres, utilizing strong melody, elaborate harmony, electronica, dissonance, and studio experimentation. Overarching themes included change, loss, and acceptance, often regarding coming-of-age. Cloudcover's second album, 'Enter Humanity,' came in January 2013. This work saw a change in direction to a more abstract form of music, as each of the 15 songs got their titles and inspiration from 15 randomly generated Wikipedia articles.
