Cloudberry is a powerpop three-piece around songwriter Marco Pleil: From 1990 to 1997 he was the leadsinger and bassist of frankfurts pop-punk-trio Strange. They released two CDs and played loads of shows incl. the wellknown Rock am Ring-event in 1996, a supporting tour for the brits Dodgy and shows with Swervedriver and Samba. In 1999, after the split of Strange and under the pseudonym Cloudberry, Marco released his first solo-demo-ep, then signed to EMI Electrola Records. A single-recording with producer Olaf Wollschläger (Melotron, Paradise Lost) and singer Stefanie Nerpel (Liquido) followed, but for dubious reasons the release got withdrawn. After many demo-recordings and in collaboration with producer Tobias Hahn (LAme Immortelle, Janus) Marco recorded the first Cloudberry-album "Elijah" on his own, established a record-label for (t)his release, worked together with ALIVE distribution and formed a four-piece-live-band. In collaboration with TheFinestNoisePromotion (a vision of bluNoise-Records) "Elijah" was released in April 2003. In January 2005 Marco signed to german publisher Saint Rich Music (edition of TJ Musicservice). The following March he got to know famous producer Guido Lucas who did faboulous jobs for bands like BLACKMAIL, HARMFUL, GENEPOOL, KEN and SCUMBUCKET.
