Taken from the interview on Soul-Cal Records: 3. How did you first become interested in music? There was always music on in my house when I was growing up. My mother loved ALL music, but I really have to thank my older brother Chuck for turning me on to such a variety of musicians. Count Basie to The Cream, Spike Jones to Tony Bennett, Muddy Waters to Led Zeppelin, The Beach Boys to Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin to Mountain. My sister Jill did as well in the early 70’s with James Taylor, Crosby Stills, Nash and Young and Jethro Tull. I loved it all and still do! 4. What was the first instrument you played? Do you play many instruments? Drums, I think, maybe a Marimba, I was bouncing on something. Now my main ax’s are Guitar, Bass Guitar, some keyboards and percussion. My Brother Stuart is the drummer on Keep Running Away, as well as my new music, ” The Nyren Brothers”. He is an amazing musician. Lee Ritenour is my favorite guitarist bar none. He can do it all! more at: http://www.stonesthrow.com/soulcal/scr108.htm User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
