Clifford Glen Eidelman (born December 5, 1964) is an American composer and conductor known for his film scores, including "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country," "Free Willy 3: The Rescue," and "Christopher Columbus: The Discovery." Eidelman began formal violin training at the age of eight and later expanded his musical skills to include piano and guitar, studying a range of genres from jazz to classical music. He attended Santa Monica College and the University of Southern California. His first feature film score was for "Magdalene" in 1989. His breakthrough came with the 1991 score for "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country." Following this, Eidelman composed a number of dramatic and epic scores, including "Christopher Columbus: The Discovery." Over time, his style evolved towards more sentimental and minimalistic compositions, reflecting a shift in the types of films he worked on.
