Artist
Claudia Caffagni is a prominent Italian musician, specializing in Early Music, particularly the Medieval repertoire. She is one of the co-founders of the renowned Italian early music ensemble La Reverdie, established in 1986 along with her sister Livia Caffagni and the de Mircovich sisters. The ensemble specializes in the study and interpretation of Medieval music and has released over twenty critically acclaimed recordings. She performs as a lutenist and a singer (vocalist), also playing the psaltery. She began studying the lute at age thirteen under the guidance of her father, Mirco. She continued her studies with Federico Marincola and Jacob Lindberg, receiving a diploma in Lute Performance from the Royal College of Music in London in 1989.
