Clarissa's personal description from her MySpace, www.myspace.com/ClarissaBarton: "I've apparently been singing since before I could speak - so says Mom. I wrote my first song at the "tender age" of seven - it was a simple piano piece called "The Flower" that actually inspired an interpretive dance by my family members. (That's on them.) I've been playing the piano since then (obviously) as well, but I don't claim to be a whiz. I hear what I hear in my mind and translate as best as I can. I've written all sorts of stuff over the many years since then, not much of which has been completed. However, 2009 is the "Year of Swarley," so here I am, finishing songs and writing new ones. The songs I've chosen to feature here are the stories I feel most compelled to share. Just some rough cuts I've done on my trusty little MacBook. Never mind genre, structure, or likability - they're about the things that have mattered to me. The most I can hope for is that they translate to some of you, and maybe even matter a little :-) Thanks for listening!"
