City Lights Bloom was formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 2009 and currently has a line up consisting of Chad Harris (guitar), Brandon Highfill (guitar), Jason Wells (bass), Jeremy Hereford (Drums), Sarah Mayo (utility percussion), Kathleen Reichard (utility percussion). The band also has various other musicians, from violinists to cellists, to help them achieve their rich, layered post-rock sound.The influence of the Texas band "Explosions in the Sky" is quite apparent, however the band have also been known to be compared to "Mogwai." and "Sigur ros" Their stage shows are usually marked by audience members clapping during the quiet parts, unwittingly believing that the song is over, to find that the song will continue on for another ten minutes. They are currently finishing their first LP, "Alone We Thought We Stood" which should be roughly over 60 minutes minutes in length and consist of four songs.it is currently being recorded by local fellow musician "ryan turk" and should be coming out as early as late summer.
