Chxrry formerly known as the artist Chxrry22 The "22" in Chxrry22's name was directly linked to her signing with XO Records in 2022 As she developed as an artist, Chxrry felt that the "22" no longer accurately represented her current stage of musical and personal growth. Born and raised in Toronto, Chxrry's passion for music traces back to her childhood when she sang at birthday parties and weddings, following the footsteps of her parents, who both sang in a choir. In 2017, her self-recorded song covers posted to social media quickly went viral, landing her a deal with XO Records, becoming the first female artist to join The Weeknd's creative group. With full control over creative direction, Chxrry released singles Call Me and The Falls, both of which garnered significant attention from the R&B community. Moving to Atlanta, she collaborated with Grammy-nominated Producer Sensei Bruno (Snoh Aalegra,, Kid Cudi) and songwriter Daijah Ross (Baby Rose, Eli Derby) for her debut EP The Other Side. In 2022, she performed a cover of The Weeknd's hit Sacrifice, and recently released Worlds Away, which makes use of the popular R&B CLF_80_Keys_TapePiano_Fm sample.
