Christopher was a percussionist in high school and eventually became bored with music from people who never tired of hitting things. His music has been very directly influenced by an interection of ambient/industrial artists and twentieth century composers: Aphex Twin, Robert Ashley, Brian Eno, Hafler Trio, Negativland, Nurse With Wound, Test Department, Laibach, The Residents, Skinny Puppy, Pierre Schaeffer, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Edgard Varese, John Zorn, and Zoviet France. Christopher often manipulates the sound(s) of others to produce new sound assemblages: Burt Bacharach, Luciano Berio, Big Black, Brother Camping, the Carpenters, Bing Crosby, Martin Denny, Donovan, Dave Emory, Eon, Esquivel, Percy Faith, Husker Du, Don Ho, King Crimson, Ernesto Lecuona, Madonna, Henry Mancini, Mantovani, Ethel Merman, Metallica, My Bloody Valentine, Maurice Ravel, Arnold Schoenberg, William Shatner, Robert Tilton, Edgard Varese, War, Lawrence Welk, et al have all been used as sonic material in his works.
