Christopher D. Lewis is The Welsh Contemporary Harpsichordist, and is currently based in San Francisco, California. Born in Rhiwbina, Wales and moved to North America to study music at McGill University, Montreal Quebec in 2005 under the guidance of harpsichordists Luc Beausejour & Hank Knox In 2009 he became the first person ever at the Schulich School of Music to obtain a degree in contemporary harpsichord music. After half a decade of living in Canada moved to California as an M.M candidate at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Corey Jamason. As a recording artist his debut album "The New Fangled Clavier" was released through the New Mix Music label in 2010. The CD is available on this site and other major sites such as Amazon(UK, US, CA), CDBaby & Itunes. It featured works commissioned especially for this CD. As a performer he has played across the U.S, Canada & the UK. Mr. Lewis is delighted to be able to perform the most flamboyant, foot tapping, audience pleasing harpsichord music out there. As a musicologist his area of expertise is modern harpsichord music and its use throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. Christopher has given lectures on this subject, and the pioneers that revived the instrument. Most importantly he discusses the future of the instrument. As a staunch and unmoving supporter of "Revival Style Harpsichords" he considers them to have been grossly overlooked for the past two decades or so, and dedicates himself t
