Christoph Werner (born sixteenth / seventeenth century in Gdansk (?) - D. 1650 in Gdańsk ) - German composer of the Baroque, active in Poland. Biographical details are very scarce. Adolf Chybiński given in his Dictionary of the former Polish musicians that by Christoph Werner pewnien time was for a time the Royal Band singer in Warsaw, where he returned to Gdansk. In Gdansk, Werner received the first position of a substitute, and later cantor in the church of St. Catherine , which he held in the years 1646 - 1650 . After his death the position it took Crato Butner . His disciple in the field of composition was Christoph Bernhard .
