Born in Boulder, Colorado, Christiana has been writing stories since the third grade when her tales about heroic interstellar adventurer Robert Quentin Space earned her funny looks from everyone around her. In the sixth grade, she also discovered a love of performance, when she volunteered to go on-stage and help sing La Bamba at a local concert, despite not knowing any of the lyrics. This led to her joining a local children's theater group, providing her first experience in doing fun creative things for money. She has not managed to replicate that since, but remembers it fondly. In high school, she channeled her creative energies into her school's Speech and Debate team, competing primarily in Interpretation of Humorous Literature, making the final round at the National Qualifying Tournament in both her junior and senior year, and placing as first alternate to Nationals as a senior. Underneath all of this creative artiness, she also showed an aptitude for Science and Math, and so when she entered the University of Colorado at Boulder, she decided to enroll in the Chemical Engineering program, on the reasoning that, transferring out would be easier than transferring in, so if she was going to try it at all, she should start there first. It all seemed perfectly logical, except that she never actually transferred out, and before she knew it, she had actually achieved a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
