Artist
Christian Galarreta (Lima, Peru), noisy musician and laptop performer, has developed since 1995 a long trajectory in sonorous exploration and experimentation. Since then he has edited several productions, many of them through the independent label Aloardí, works in which he develops the different aspects of noise, applying techniques such as the use of the malfunction of machinery, the exploitation of home-made instruments, the controlled induction of errors in the software, the programming of tools and the development of sonorous experiences created by processing noise in real time reaching extreme levels of saturation and silence. Works as remarkable as their EP of 2004 Orizona (Dreamland Recordings), behave as a tidy puzzle of sonic chaos fastened together with cut-up techniques and multiplied error messages. Christian Galarreta has been invited to participate with his equipment, interventions and sonorous performances in different festivals and expositions, all related with electronic art and experimental music, as he is considered one of the most relevant artists of the fertile and noteworthy South American electronic scene. http://www.myspace.com/christiangalarreta User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
