Artist
Christian Badzura is a Berlin‑based producer, A&R executive, composer and arranger whose work sits at the intersection of classical and electronic music. In 2011 he joined Deutsche Grammophon as Executive Producer/A&R—curating and shepherding projects with leading figures such as Max Richter, the late Jóhann Jóhannsson, Daniel Hope, Maurizio Pollini, Pierre‑Laurent Aimard and Hilary Hahn—and since 2017 has served as Director of New Repertoire, signing artists like Víkingur Ólafsson, Joep Beving, Ágnes Obel and Peter Gregson. A graduate in classical piano studies and music production/management, Badzura spent several years in the UK founding a session orchestra before dedicating himself fully to the executive‑producing and creative side of classical recording. Alongside his label work, Badzura has emerged as an artist in his own right. His debut solo album, The Turning Year, was released in 2022, showcasing a blend of piano, synthesizer and immersive field recordings. He followed it with singles such as Strangely, I Dreamt (November 17 2023), produced for Roger Eno & Cecily Eno with Scoring Berlin, and has become sought after for his imaginative arrangements—most notably his rework of Bryce Dessner’s “Song for Octave” for Mari Samuelsen, combining solo violin, piano and electronics.
