Artist
Christian Ludwig "Chrislo" Haas (born November 16, 1956 in Aichach; died October 23, 2004 in Berlin) was a German electro-punk musician and initial member of the band Deutsch-Amerikanische Freundschaft (D.A.F.). Haas is considered one of the founding fathers of Techno and modern electronic dance music. He shaped the German music scene of the 80's with his synthesizer work in the Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft, with Minus Delta T, CHBB and Liaisons Dangereuses and later with Crime and the City Solution. On LUNATEC he produced the track "Go" with Non Eric under the name Armed Response. The maxi-single was also published by MUTE Records. His two records for the label Tresor Records were published under the name "Chrislo". Haas was one of the initial members of the artist collective Minus Delta T. This group was notable for its absurd and provocative actions, approximated by transporting an oil barrel to Saudi Arabia or rock-break to the Himalayas. In the Jürgen Teipels Doku novel "Verschwende Deine Jugend" Haas has an important role. Haas died at the end of October 2004 at 47 in Berlin due to excessive consumption of alcohol.
