I hope this description is accurate. I'm going on memory only. Chris Berry was raised in California. Around the age of fifteen he stole a cassette tape from the local record shop. This cassette ended up being the first stone in his elaborate musical life. The cassette in question was a Fela Kuti album. He listened to it and fell in love with the sound. He traveled to Africa shortly after discovering the cassette. While in Africa, he studied under a master thumb pianist and quickly became one him self.
