All members of Cherries On A Blacklist took a long journey and left their countries to accomplish the same goal, to grow as musicians and broaden their horizons. George, Andreas, and Malapert grew up in the island of Rhodes/Greece, whose main financial resource is tourism. On the other side of the Atlantic, Gonzo grew up in Monterrey, one of Mexico's most important industrial cities. In order to keep playing music and reach a higher level, they realized that they would soon have to leave. They all moved to Hamburg/Germany, a city renowned for its musical background. The name of the band could be interpreted in many ways. The main meaning behind it is that "Cherries" represents the purity, innocence and beauty that has been blacklisted, giving presence to the confusion and misunderstanding happening all around us. The band "Cherries On A Blacklist" observes that and puts it down in words and music. Cherries On A Blacklist was founded in May 2007 in Hamburg by Andreas, George, Malapert and Knop. After playing live all around Germany, they managed to record their first EP on their own, titled "14" (4 Track-EP) in the summer of 2008. Over a 1.000 copies have been given out to the audience for free since the EP release (2008/09). After they started to gain respect and get noticed by the local clubs, Sebastian Knop left the band for his own personal reasons in the beginning of 2009.
