Led by a single mind operating multiple bodies (instruments to be less poetic), Brooklyn-based ChemistReset is a sonic blender of bi-polar moods and unifying sounds. It began as a tiny seed planted by bassist Charles J Thomas who, despite playing with traditional rock outfits in the past, preferred experimenting with drum machines, synths, and guitars in the studio environment. After a few years of living in the vacuum that was his laptop recording software, Charles expanded his multi-instrumental range at the beginning of 2012 by adding guitarist Hassan McCutchen to the mix. It was those sessions in Charles' cramped apartment that spawned the recording project that is ChemistReset. The duo exploited the studio just as hip hop and electronic producers do in order to explore the deepest, darkest, gooiest realms of creativity, and in the spirit of Neil Young they recorded everything raw - mistakes and all. They took cues from prog-rock and jazz to punk and electronica. Initially focusing on composition and excess, they gradually incorporated more and more instrumentation while holding on to the virtuoso guitarist and driven bassist. Yet within the digital onslaught they managed at times to find harmony; they managed to find softness and calm. They ultimately were creating music in the moment, and nine months after the project's conception the album was born. ChemistReset's debut "Air Vibration: Ready Demolition!" was completed and self-released on November 27, 2012
