The slogan was “We’re Cheap ‘n’ Nasty but we’re not as cheap and nasty as you!”; a line from that Piranhas song. It’s a statement against the narrowmindedness of society. The name of the band had nothing to do with the later, 1988, song “Cheap an’ Nasty” by Whitesnake. Also, should not be confused with the British Cheap And Nasty band, founded in 1990. Featuring Alvin Gibbs, then not in the UK Subs, on guitar. Also, nothing to do with the later West Australian band Cheap’n’Nasty. Lyrics: Lyrics are criticisms of the fashion industry, of how tourists see punks, of Big Pharma, of (religious) hypocrisy, of military expenditure, about a Martian invasion, etc. Description: They have been called 'experimental punk' or 'the bridge between punk and post-punk' and played on a United States radio program podcast on 'female-fronted post-punk'.
