Chasing Gravity are an Australian alternative rock band, formed in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in 2002 and is now based in Melbourne, Victoria. The band changed their name from Elephant Mojo in the mid-2000s, because they felt that this name no longer reflected the music that they were making. Chasing Gravity have a fairly significant following in Australia and have released several CDs since their formation in 2002. They released three CDs as Elephant Mojo, and have released one LP and one EP under their current name. The band are renowned for their live performances, and have toured across Australia many times over since their inception. September 2008 saw guitarist and founding member Nick Matheson leave the group to travel the world and pursue a solo career. It was speculated during this time that the band may have been breaking up, but the band reunited in Melbourne and recruited a new guitarist, Lachlan Colquhoun. However, his tenure with the group was short-lived, and the group went on hiatus throughout most of 2009. In late 2009/early 2010 the group recruited new guitarist Robby Edge. In March 2010, the group announced that new bassist Emmet Brazil had joined the group. The band said "[Emmet] has made the band feel like a 'unit' again ... [and we] look forward to making music with him!" The band is currently working on their second album in Sweden, and is embarking on a large tour of Europe. The current line-up consists of: Robby Edge - Guitar Dominic Hoog
