Chase the Sunset are a five piece metal/hardcore and progressive rock band, taking the stylistic approach of tech-distinctive metal meets ambient progressive breaks. The band hail from the old coal mining communities of South Wales, from Maesteg in the Llynfi Valley, to the Rhonnda Valleys and Monmouthshire, the band still practice and write in an industrial unit on the mountain side overlooking old Maesteg. The current lineup formed in 2009, while the backbone of the band has been honing its skills since 2004 through constant writing and live performances all across the UK. As Chase The Sunset the band quickly assembled themselves for all out war on the western scene in just under a year. Since then the young quintet have stormed the beaches in an assault on the local scenes up and down the country, their newly recorded EP, “Night’s like These” is out on the frontlines via Glasstone Records on October 18th! Technical guitars sweep and cut their way through piercing screams, which are both met and interspersed by soaring vocal melodies and slow, atmospheric break downs, fusing the two polar co-ordinates of hardcore music together. Previously distributed in the US (Ferret) and after gathering much label interest, the band have now found their feet, running with an unstoppable hard work ethic and a passion for their music too often absent from the modern metal scene, straight towards that sunset.
