Charter 77 are a four piece band from Melbourne's inner, northern and south eastern suburbs. The current line up has been together since November 2000. In that time the band has gained a reputation as being one of Melbourne's hardest working punk bands(by 2003 we had played 130 shows together). After many years of relentless gigging the band decided to release their first proper full length album which was released on Trial and Error records in July 2005 This was to be the first street punk oriented release on the label which has been releasing the some of Australias finest hardcore bands for almost 10 years. Charter 77s sound has been described as mixture of Oi!, Street Punk and Hardcore. Charter 77 have since broken up.
