Charming Hala is a new project born from the original work of Don Russo. This is his first effort fronting a group after several years of supporting other artists and experimenting with various genres. He is supported by an excellent group of musicians. Josh Kean and Kenny McWilliams both formerly played in a band called Baumer. Josh played drums and Kenny actually played guitar. They were signed, toured the country playing festivals such as South by Southwest. Their tunes were featured on Television and a movie. They also recorded a video that aired on Fuse. They are both very solid players. Jesse Isley fronts a group called Jesse Isley and the Trippers. He brings great harmonies, tasteful guitar playing, and stage presence to every show. Don has gained a reputation as a guitar player in SC over the past several years. He has supported groups such as Danielle Howle, Edgewise, and Siler's Bald. Don has shared the stage with Tonic, Marcy's Playground, Widespread Panic, Ashford and Simpson, and Driving and Crying to name a few.
