Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbats is an American instrumental funk-rock band from Los Angeles, California, United States and was formed in 2007. It consists of drummer Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chickenfoot), guitarist Jeff Kollman (Cosmosquad), bassist Kevin Chown (Uncle Kracker, Ted Nugent), and keyboardist Ed Roth. Together, they comprise what is easily one of the most interesting and unpredictable instrumental bands to come along in years; Chad Smith’s Bombastic Meatbats. Their sound creates a cutting edge sonic experience with a plethora of influences, fusing together styles as diverse as classic rock, old school funk, punk, and 70’s R&B.
