Real Name: Lucius Craig Cervantes Real Name: Lucius Craig Cervantes Profile: St. Louis, Missouri area musician, vocalist, producer and composer. Cervantes began playing drums at age twelve and in 1972 his band played backup for another STL native Chuck Berry. He would drop out of law school to attend Webster University in STL studying music before transferring to The California Institute of Arts in Las Angeles. He would spend one summer at Berklee and on in India studying Eastern music. His first job after college was as a musician at the Dunes hotel in Las Vegas. After his father fell ill in 1982 he would return to STL where he continued to book shows locally and continued working as a musician. He dedicated his first album to his father Alfonso J. Cervantes who was the former mayor of St. Louis. In Groups: Cervantes Cervantes’ musical abilities were recognized at an early age by his parents, the late Honorable Alfonso and First Lady Carmen Cervantes, of St. Louis. A current resident of the Lake of the Ozarks, St. Louis and Naples, Fla., Cervantes was provided a musical education at an early age. By his teenage years, he played five instruments, and his musical prowess led to a professional debut in 1973 playing drums for the legendary Chuck Berry. He performed behind a myriad of major talents in Las Vegas for several years before returning to St. Louis in his mid-30s upon the death of his father, Alphonso.
