Cephid is the alter-ego of UK keyboardist and composer Moray Macdonald. Cephid alter ego was created as an opportunity to bring his diverse influences together into a single coherent artistic statement. From his live work with artists from across the modern progressive rock scene to his early love of experimental electronic music, he endeavours to represent many musical facets in his work. Cephid release their debut album Sparks in the Darkness on 9th Feb 2024. They also remixed Kleptocracy for Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. A punk band from Richmond VA also performed under this name from 1998-2001. Members of this band would later form the hardcore band Ten 33.
