In the summer of 1998, Nick Watson - drummer, percussionist... and Jana Light - Vocals, Bodhran and Guitar...and the services of various local musicians they formed Celtic Soul. Based on the music of the Celtic Nations and the power of contemporary Rock, their music has continued to grow and evolve. Since then, the band has teamed up with new members and long-time friends, Trevor Tanner with his precision guitar work, vocals and penmanship and the Fiddle of Lori Poteat, a young fiery Music Ethnomusicology major who in the last couple years has thrown herself into the cauldron of Celtic styles that the band so often draws from... This band with the present lineup has the genuine song writing talent and longevity to garnish any venue or Festival and ultimately push Celtic music into the mainstream. Together they have been winning over audiences in their hometown and up and down the east coast where Celtic Soul has developed a diverse crowd of followers.
