Svetlana Ražnatović, better known by her stage name "Ceca" (pronounced 'Tsetsa') is the top #1 Serbian pop singer, as well as a national personality in showbiz and politics. She was already a famous singer when she married Arkan Raznatović, leader of militias who committed some of the worst attrocities in the War of Bosnia (1993-1995). Her husband was later killed and Ceca remained a strong supporter of nationalist groups. Ceca is the lead singer of turbofolk, a pop/dance genre quite popular in the Balkans among mainstream listeners. Her popularity is shared by most former Yugoslav republics, such as Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro - one of the few common bonds between sister nations who warred against each other so cruelly for several years in the 1990's.
