Cayuga's Waiters is the oldest all-male a cappella group at Cornell University. Formed in 1949 as a subset of the Cornell University Glee Club, the group disassociated from the Glee Club in 1956. In addition to being an a cappella group, the Waiters host numerous parties and attend events throughout the year such as Victory Club. The Waiters travel around the country during school breaks, and have toured in places such as California, Florida, Puerto Rico, and Whistler, British Columbia. Recent performances include the national anthem at a Los Angeles Lakers game and their traditional spring and fall concerts, which consistently sell out Cornell's largest auditoriums. Spring Fever, going on its 33rd year, is one of Cornell's oldest continuing shows. Cayuga's Waiters hosts charity events biannually, and past shows have included the One Concert to benefit the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks and The Big Red Relief concert. The Waiters put out a new album every few years. Their CDs are sold on their website and at the Cornell Store, and the latest album is due to be released in Spring '06. Along with their repertoire of arrangements of contemporary and pop songs, the Waiters are well known on campus for performing We Didn't Go to Harvard, a parody of Billy Joel's We Didn't Start the Fire, and have been mentioned in, among others, Rolling Stone and Playboy magazines.
