Caslantic is the most recent 2011 project from a group of musicians located in the Inland Empire of California. Previously know under the name To Fight The Wolf with the departure of their singer they began to rework their songs and rerecord them in an attempt to better amplify their sound and to grasp the attention of those who could hear it. Although their current tracks are instrumental they are looking for a skilled vocalist who's techniques should range from soft and melodic to heavy and hard. In 2008 Bandmates Davey Lyon (Lead Guitarist), Corey Johnson, (bassist) and Nick Guerrero (percussionist) began jamming under the name "The Premier" until late 2008 when they got the addition of a singer to their lineup. When this happened the band changed their name to "To Fight the Wolf" and began looking for another guitarist to fill the lineup and get their music moving. And in mid 2009 replying to a craigslist ad they found Alex Zimmer (Rhythm Guitarist) who although had more formal musical upbringing through his father's classical studies, consider's his improvisations on his guitar a piece of the puzzle this band needed. With a full lineup they began to record a few songs to pass around as demo's and to get a bit of opportunity for playing gig's. For a time "To Fight the Wolf" had been playing everything from small house parties for friends, to bar's and charity event's.
