Cartesian Ghost is a band born in 2015 as a result of the diverse musical interests of its members, influences that range from Katatonia, Tool, Pain of Salvation or Opeth, to other more classic metal styles such as Evergrey. The upshot of this diversity is a type of rock/metal that refuses to be pigeonholed and that contains forcefulness, hypnotic riffs, dizzying melodies and a visceral punch—a style that the band has chosen to call Arcane Metal. Instability in the lineup marked the first years of the band, resulting in many changes. From the original lineup, Kristofer Montenegro (vocals), Pedro Abraham (keyboards) and Emilio García (drums) remain. After the entry of Eduardo Samper (guitar) and, more recently, Carlos Navas (bass), the band has found the necessary stability to move forward and be able to leave the rehearsal space to put forth their musical proposal. In 2023, the debut album of the band, Lux Arcana, is released. This album serves as a testament to their artistic evolution and growth, capturing the essence of Cartesian Ghost's distinctive sound. As they embark on this new chapter, the narrative of Cartesian Ghost continues to unfold, promising further sonic explorations and a compelling musical journey.
