Carol Of Harvest is a german progressive-folk-rock band (from Cadolzburg, Bayern) Members: Beate Krause (vocals), Axel Schmierer (guitars, keyboards, programming), Jürgen Kolb (keyboards), Heinz Reinschlüssel (bass), Robert Högn (drums), Ewa Grams CAROL OF HARVEST were a folk band founded in the Middle Franconian town of Fürth in 1976. Consisting of Axel Schmierer (* in Stuttgart on 10/11/1957) on guitars, Jürgen Kolb (* in Fürth on 9/2/1955) on keyboards, Robert Högn on drums, organ builder Heinz Reinschlüssel (* in Fürth on 5/24/1960) on bass, and Beate Krause (* 1960) on vocals. She replaced another singer, also called Beate, who had only performed at one single gig in the Fürth municipal park. Helmut Reinschlüssel, who is Heinz' elder brother and also an organ builder, operated the P.A. Axel Schmierer admired After Curfew, a band founded at his school, with a very good guitarist. He learned to play the guitar himself because he wanted to join that band. He applied when they were looking for a new man on rhythm guitar, then was, however, rejected. He thus founded his own band, Carol of Harvest. The band name was inspired by Walt Whitman's poem, "A Carol of Harvest" from 1867, Axel was very impressed by. Their rehearsal room was situated in Nuremberg. With 65 sq. m it was rather spacious. All songs, both music and lyrics, were written by Axel Schmierer.
